How to calculate scores for each section in Google Forms?

You can assign point values to questions in Google Forms by creating a quiz and calculate the total score, but you cannot calculate the individual scores for each section. You can use the Scorecery addon for score calculations.

How to calculate individual scores for each section?

Pre-requisite: You must have installed the Scorecery add-on for Google Forms. If you haven't installed the add-on yet, you can install it from Google Workspace Marketplace using this link. https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/scorecery/706030115252

Step 1: Open your form in Google Forms. Add a Short Answer question with number response validation.
Add a short answer question in each section. If you would like to calculate the overall score, add another Short Answer question in the last section.
Step 2: Click on the addon icon and click Scorecery.
Step 3: Scorecery menu will be displayed. Click More options.
Step 4: Sidebar widget will be displayed. Click Customize.

Assign points

You can assign different points for answer choices in dropdown, multiple choice, checkbox, liner scale & grid questions. You have to repeat steps 5 & 6 below to assign points for all the questions in your form.

Step 5: In the Edit page, click on the gear icon next to the question.
Step 6: Question settings page will be displayed. Click Answer. Assign points for the different answer choices and click Save.

Calculate section score

Step 7: Click on the gear icon next to the section score question.
Step 8: Question settings page will be displayed. Click Answer, add the POINTS(SECTION) formula in the Calculate option and click Save.
Step 9: Similarly, click on gear icon next to section score question in second section. Question settings page will be displayed. Click Answer, add the POINTS(SECTION) formula in the Calculate option and click Save.
Step 10: Similarly, click on gear icon next to section score question in third section. Question settings page will be displayed. Click Answer, add the POINTS(SECTION) formula in the Calculate option and click Save.

Overall score

You can use the SUM() formula to add the section scores and calculate the overall score.

Step 11: Click on gear icon next to overall score question. Question settings page will be displayed. Click Answer, add the SUM formula (as shown below) in the Calculate option and click Save.
