National Funding Application

Applications for our Emergency Relief Fund are open to all front of house and back of house hospitality professionals across Canada, to a maximum of $500 per month, provided:

  • You worked at a licensed establishment for at least six months since January 1, 2020
  • You can prove your employment with an ROE or pay stub, that clearly shows your name, your employer and dates of employment
  • You have a valid Social Insurance Number
Please ensure that your contact information is entered correctly.


After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email and your details will be reviewed by our Funding Officer, who will:

  • Confirm your identity
  • Confirm your employment history
  • Remove your identifying information before distributing to our Disbursement Panels
PLEASE NOTE: Any application without the correct details or supporting documents will not be forwarded to the assessment panels.


The Disbursement Panels are made up of Canadian hospitality professionals who review the applications once all employment details and identifying information have been removed. Applications are rated individually from 1-20 based on the acuteness of the need and the urgency of the situation, then are reviewed by the panel as a group to determine which applicants will receive funding that week.


Applicants will be notified whether their request can be fulfilled by the following Sunday. Successful applicants have 48 hours to provide their SIN - a requirement from the the CRA - before we can deposit any funds. If you do not wish to provide your SIN, please refer to our Food Insecurity Fund which offers vouchers to a variety of national superstores.


Tax information: Please note, any funds granted to applicants totalling $500 or more may be considered taxable income by the CRA. All applicable applicants will be issued a T4A form each spring for tax return purposes. Please consult with your financial advisor for further information.


Please ensure these details are correct before submitting: incorrect information will lead to a delay in our inability to disburse your funds. Funds are disbursed via our third party payment system Plooto EFT over the following week.
