Next stop: The stratosphere
At Radical, we’re embarking on a mission to revolutionize how we connect and observe our planet. Our focus is on taking aerospace technology to new heights – literally. We are building high-altitude solar-powered aircraft designed to fly continuously in the stratosphere.
To date, we have successfully validated our technology using a subscale solar aircraft, which has flown non-stop for over 24 hours. Now, we are assembling a dynamic team of engineers and builders ready to propel our technology to the next level.
If you’re passionate about advancing innovative technology and love challenging engineering projects, Radical is the startup for you. Join us and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
As a solar drone technician at Radical you will work directly on the assembly and integration of our fixed-wing stratospheric aircraft. You will build solar and battery assemblies, test electromechanical components, and support aircraft prototyping and construction work. You will be based at our Ballard office in Seattle, WA, collaborating closely with our small, agile, and interdisciplinary team. You will:
Support aircraft assembly and system build and integration work for solar drone structure, systems, and subsystems.
Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, service aircraft and battery systems to prepare stratospheric aircraft for flight.
Build solar arrays and battery modules and integrate onto assembled solar aircraft.
Interpret technical specifications, detailed drawings, and engineering instructions to accomplish technical work assignments.
Uphold the highest standards of safety and quality, conducting thorough inspections and ensuring all work meets or exceeds company standards.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance and repair work, including reports on system performance and issues encountered.
