The Kindred Life Thrive Education Award is intended for high school seniors who are parenting or pregnant ( and parenting by August) and are pursuing a course of education or vocational training that will help them become self-reliant. The goal of the award is to help minimize common barriers to continuing education such as cost of transportation, childcare, rent or lost wages.
APPLICATION OPENS: JANUARY 1.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: APRIL 1.
If you are a high school senior and a parent or pregnant (and parenting byAugust):
One, $1,500 award will be given annually to a parenting or pregnant high school senior each spring and will be paid directly to educational institution.
Applicant must be:
A student at High School within Kindred Life's Service Area.
Able to present proof of admission to an institution of higher learning or trade school; and
United States Citizen or eligible non-citizen
If you are a finalist, a video or in person interview is required for final determination
A letter of recommendation from a teacher if you are in high school or a teacher or employer if you have graduated from high school
A high school transcript
All recipients of the Kindred Life Thrive Education Award will be selected based upon the applicant's
Award winner's must:
Show your child's birth certificate to the Educational Committee Chair. (We will not keep or photocopy the certificate.)
Maintain a 2.5 GPA to be eligible for award renewal
Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and demonstrate completion each semester -or- complete
Commit to a monthly phone meeting with a Kindred Life representative
Participate in a promotional video or event
